Rueven Berger (Jerusalem, Israel)

Reuven Berger was born in New York in 1944. His parents fled from the Nazi holocaust to the United States but a number of the members of his family were killed in the extermination camps of Eastern Europe. He and his elder brother Benjamin were raised in the orthodox Jewish tradition. Reuven was a student of French Literature and Romance Philology. In 1967, the Lord Jesus revealed Himself to his brother Benjamin while working in Denmark and in October 1970, Reuven also had a unique encounter with the Lord. The Lord called him to move to Israel some few weeks after. His brother and parents later followed to make their Aliyah in Israel.

Reuven and Benjamin, his brother, have lived together since 1971 in Israel.  They have lived together and served the Lord in different parts of Israel and are amongst the pioneers of the modern Messianic movement in Israel. They have been involved in a ministry of reconciliation within the land of Israel and amongst the nations. Their ministry has crossed several national and denominational borders particularly in Europe, and the Middle East where Jews have suffered much hostility and bitter persecution.

They lead a messianic congregation at Christ Church called “the Congregation of the Lamb on Mount Zion” near Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem where Jews, Arabs and believers from the nations meet together. They are the authors of different books which speak of Israel and the Church in the End Times. They have taught the Word of God in several nations, particularly in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, East and West Papua and the Pacific islands. They carry a burden for the unity of the one true Bride of Messiah, the Return of the Glory to Zion and the salvation of Israel.

Andy Watson, Barrel Ministries (London, United Kingdom)

I am pleased to introduce you to Barrel Ministries

Barrel Ministries began in 2012 answering Jesus’ call to His people to go and fulfil the great commission.

The Lord gave the picture of the “Barrel” and the song “Roll out the Barrel” at this time with the words of Isaiah 55 v 1 and 43 v 19. The “Barrel” is a vessel full of the Holy Spirit and is rolled out to give a drink to people in the community and to soak the land.

The “Barrel” was first rolled out in Crayford, UK praying for people in the street, being a vessel for the Holy Spirit in bringing about salvation and signs and wonders, and meeting the needs of local homeless, vulnerable, lonely and addicted people. Practically, this involved visiting people where they lived, whether in houses, flats or on the street, and making sure that their basic needs were provided for such as food, shelter, clothing and being able to get clean and have a tidy up.  They all came to know Jesus and in understanding His love and care, their lives were changed and in one case, totally transformed! This care continues in the places that they have now made their Church homes.

For some time now, the “Barrel” has been answering God’s specific call to go “to blast the trumpet in places of influence and decision making”. To date, we have gone with the trumpet and Shofar to over 27 nations of the world.

The “Barrel” also has a specific mandate to work with people everywhere to encourage and bring the message of hope and victory that is found in following Jesus. This is an evangelistic mission that reaches out through the Gospel, touching the hearts of a lost generation and strengthening the Body of Christ. We visit many churches in the UK and worldwide to speak to their people and to encourage them to be bold in speaking about Jesus. We go into the towns and cities in each nation we visit with teams from churches, with a mission to reach the unreached on the housing estates, and high streets of their local communities. We have many friends in the Body of Christ through this joint mission and specifically work and support churches in Kerala and a school in Chennai, India, who themselves carry out an amazing outreach, education and feeding programme in their local community.

It is a privilege to be able to share my experience of meeting and following Jesus, who dramatically changed my life in 2003 when He lifted me out of the miry clay” of twenty years of drug & alcohol addiction, prison, mental institutions and begging on the streets.
